A geographic information system (GIS) is a computer system for capturing, storing, checking, and displaying data related to positions on Earth's surface. By relating seemingly unrelated data, GIS can help individuals and organizations better understand spatial patterns and relationships.

In this webinar, attendees will explore the many benefits geographic information systems can have in addressing social causes. Using a specific use case and a data-driven approach, the benefits of apply data points to a geographical map of a specific community will be explored as a way to better understand the needs of the community and the gaps in resources or knowledge acquisition that exist. The role of community engagement in projects relating to social good will be a theme throughout the webinar.
