Intro to WordPress: 101

Introduction to the WordPress Content Management Systems (CMS).

A CMS is a web application designed to make it easy for non-technical users to add, edit and manage a website, to include memberships and even e-commerce transactions. We will explore how to use a free version of WordPress hosted at WordPress.com, that enables you build a simple blog or website in just a couple of minutes. You will learn what is the difference between hosted and managed version of WordPress (downloaded from WordPress.org and installed at your own hosting).

There are three workshops in this series:

A.: Introduction to the WordPress Content Management Systems (CMS). A CMS is a web application designed to make it easy for non-technical users to add, edit and manage a website, to include memberships and even e-commerce transactions. This first workshop will introduce you to CMS terminology, the WordPress CMS, and show you how easy it is to use.

We will also learn how to find resources that can help you with your website.

B – Up and Running with WordPress. 

C – Customizing your WordPress Site. 

Though this may sound daunting, be assured that in keeping with the ease of use principal of a CMS, no coding is involved and is almost completely point-and-click and drag-and-drop...honest.

He culminated his military career at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY where he taught in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department from 2000-2006 and also served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Corps of Cadets from 2006-2007.
