So, you’ve made the right choice and decided to join or return to the Newburgh Girls Code Club, congratulations! (For those still debating, do it! You won’t regret taking this chance to grow your coding skills and be part of our sisterhood of empowered women.) You’ve got plenty of fun, learning, empowerment, exploration and community ahead of you. But now, it’s time to choose which program is right for you. Read on for some more information on how to make your choice:

Our Fall/Spring cohorts run for multiple months and meet around 2 hours per week (like our current Spring Semester which is 2hrs/week for 14 weeks) These cohorts are more likely to be open for beginners and non-alumni. (Though they also run for experienced girls and alumni.) So for girls who are just starting out or want to test the waters of the coding world we encourage you to sign up for the next available Fall/Spring course. These cohorts have the most variety so check them out no matter your level. The only thing that matters is your desire to learn and grow! We have many more planned for the coming years so make sure to follow along for the next date announcements.

The Summer Immersive session focuses on expanding pre-existing coding knowledge and developing it into professionally applicable skills. It is a two week intensive focused on website development and combining multiple coding languages. Our next session will be July 11-22, 2022, Monday-Friday from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. (More information on this program here). Registration for the Summer Immersive is open now and until June 6th, for returning alumni of NGCC who want to go further with their coding skills.

So, if you are new to coding head to the Newburgh Library website to check out our Fall/Spring semesters, and if you have experience with coding don’t hesitate to come back for more in our Summer Immersive cohort. Either way, we will make coding fun and informative through our leadership principles and you will learn many new real-world skills and make lasting, meaningful connections in our supportive environment of peers and mentors. Bonus- colleges love a girl who’s breaking into the tech world and NGCC would be a great addition to your application.
