Dave has a broad background and education encompassing technology, law, music, and philosophy. Since 2022, he has been focused primarily on software development and technology. He's studied front-end and back-end development, low-level programming with a focus on C and assembly, and IT and computer systems. He's most comfortable working with Python, Lua, JavaScript, Go, C, and HTML and CSS. He's also familiar to varying degrees with PHP, C++, R, SQL, Rust, Assembly, and Lisp. He's worked on web development projects using various platforms and frameworks such as WordPress, Squarespace, Cloudflare, Hugo, and Astro. He's comfortable with Linux and CLI tools as well as Windows and MacOS. Dave has many additional interests in the field of computers and technology including electronics, robotics, AI, cyber security and penetration testing, data science, web scraping, and UI/UX design and development. Dave has a BA in Philosophy from Boston University and a JD from St. John's University School of Law.
Dave is currently working as an instructor and project manager for OpenHub. He is overseeing the administration of the Tech Academy program, which instructs students in the use of computers and technology, including programming and web development, data analysis, IT, and digital literacy. He will also be teaching and helping to administer a STEAM summer camp program the summer of 2025, and follow-up after-school program. The program is designed to help 8-15 year old children learn about topics like computers, programming, robotics, electronics, and design thinking.
