Learning Tech as Pathway Out of Poverty

- Tech jobs can be seen as the new manufacturing jobs, it is fast growing sector
- Mastering code and applying it in business holds the promise of becoming the modern path to the middle class for people without four-year college degrees.
- While teaching coding we typically teach both technical and “soft skills” like teamwork, confidence while speaking in public, feel comfortable asking questions in a tech-work culture.
Studying Web Development is a challenging journey with a steep learning curve. It is not for everybody, it works for motivated people acceptig challenges. Taught by practicing developers in a high-support, high-expectations environment, it can open new opportunities for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds and career changing adults.
